Justin Bieber adalah anak dari pasangan muda Jeremy Jack Bieber (ayah) dan Patricia (Pattie) Lynn Mallette (ibu) dimana ibunya berusia 18 tahun saat melahirkan Justin. Pasangan ini berpisah pada saat Justin Bieber berumur 2 tahun. Pada umur 4 tahun Justin didaftarkan pada sekolah bermain drum oleh ibunya dan mulai belajar piano saat umur 7, dan gitar pada umur 10.
